Police Link Esplanade Suspect To Past Sex Assault

BOSTON (WBZ) ― State Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the man wanted for attacking two women on the Esplanade this summer.

A woman was sexually assaulted while jogging the night of June 16. The second victim was attacked in the early morning hours of July 29 as she walked near Beacon and Hereford Streets.

Forensic evidence has linked the suspect to another sexual assault in South Boston in July 2006, said Col. Mark Delaney, superintendent of the State Police.

The suspect is described as a black male, 28-32 years old, between 5-feet-8 and 5-feet-10 inches tall, about 200 pounds, with a heavy build and shaved head.

The victims in each attack were students.

"We ask the public to be extra cautious in their travels, cognizant of their surroundings and travel with a friend whenever possible," said Col. Delaney.

Anyone with information on these cases is urged to call the State Police at 617.727.6780.
