Search Crews Find Remains At Gloucester Fire Site

GLOUCESTER (WBZ) ― Officials say they have found human remains in the rubble of a Gloucester apartment building destroyed by fire last month.

Fire Chief Barry McKay says the remains were turned over to the medical examiner so a positive identification could be made.

Since the fire broke out at the four-story apartment building on December 14, crews have been searching for the body of 70-year-old Robert Taylor.

According to McKay, the remains were found either Friday or Saturday as state police, federal agents and volunteers rummaged through the debris.

Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the deadly fire that also destroyed a neighboring synagogue.
