Four people have been treated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out onboard a high-speed ferry traveling from Martha's Vineyard to Hyannis.
Crew members reported smoke coming from near the engine of the Hy-Line's
Lady Martha as it neared Hyannis Harbor about 9:30 a.m. Thursday. There were 10 people onboard, including six passengers.
When the boat reached the dock, the passengers were evacuated and firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control within minutes.
Four crew members were treated for smoke inhalation. A firefighter also suffered an injured shoulder.
Philip Scudder, Hy-Line's vice president of marketing, said firefighters were able to clear other boats from the docks and begin fighting the blaze quickly.
