Fire Weather Watch Issued In Mass. And N.H.

BOSTON (WBZ) ― The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch for a large part of Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire.

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions, such as a combination of strong winds, abundant sunshine, low humidity and recent dryness, may occur Tuesday afternoon.

It goes into effect at noon. The watch includes all of Massachusetts west of Interstate 495 and south central New Hampshire.

The primary period of risk for increased fire danger is between noon and 5 p.m., according to the weather service.

If the danger becomes greater, a red flag warning will be issued.

The watch expires at 6 p.m. in Massachusetts and 7 p.m. in New Hampshire.
