It was something out of this world before Wednesday's Red Sox-Yankees game at Yankee Stadium when the ceremonial first pitch was thrown from outer space.
NASA astronaut Dr. Garrett Reisman threw out the first pitch from the International Space Station, which is about 200 miles above the Earth.
The pitch was shown on the JumboTron screens inside the Stadium.
Reisman, 40, of Parsippany, N.J., wore a blue Yankee T-shirt as he tossed the pitch from inside the space capsule, where he's been since March 12.
Aftewards, he talked about throwing out the first pitch from space.

"Flying in space is really great, but throwing out the first pitch for the Yankees/Red Sox game I was very excited about it," Reisman said.
He brought a few keepsakes with him to the space station in honor of the Yankees.
"I brought a banner that flew over Yankee Stadium, and I have some dirt from the infield at the pitcher's mound of Yankee Stadium," he said.
Reisman is a lifelong Yankee fan. According to
mlb.com, he also brought a hat autographed by George Steinbrenner.
