Framingham police say they've arrested two brothers in connection with the stabbing of a 16-year-old sophomore on the front steps of Framingham High School.
One is 15-years old. He's charged with assault with a knife and assault with intent to kill.
His 16-year-old brother is charged with disturbing school assembly and disorderly conduct.
Students said it happened in a fight over a girl.
The victim was stabbed in the lower back or buttocks area. His wounds were considered serious enough to have him medflighted to Boston Medical Center, where the injuries are said not to be life-threatening.
Police say he was arguing with several students when another teenager came up behind him and stabbed him.
The victim then ran into the school as the suspect walked away.
Becky Cole, a classmate of the victim, said she saw him in front of the main office. "He was on the floor, conscious, bleeding from the lower back."
She said he wasn't saying anything. "He was more in shock, crying."
She said he had told her earlier in the day, "he was going to fight some kid after school," but did not say who it was.
Witnesses said there was a lot of blood both outside and inside the main entrance of the 2,100 student school, where classmates were crying and hugging in the main hallway.
Names of students involved in the stabbing were not released because they are juveniles.
