Framingham Swimmer Drowns In State Reservoir

FRAMINGHAM (WBZ) ― A search for a missing swimmer in Framingham ended tragically Tuesday evening.

Divers pulled the body of an 18-year-old man out of the state reservoir near the Mass Pike after two hours of searching for him.

Framingham fire officials said the man was swimming with friends when he went under the waters.

He drowned near a railroad trestle that spans Foss Reservoir near Chef Orient on Route 9. The area is off-limits to swimmers but has become a popular site where teens dive and swim during the summer.

The victim's name has not been released.
