State Rep. Calls For Suspension Of State Gas Tax
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
Record gas prices are fueling a new push for a gas tax holiday in the Massachusetts.
Prices have shot up $3.63 a gallon, compared to $2.94 a gallon at this time last year.
State Representative Jeff Perry has filed a bill calling on the state to temporarily suspend the 21 cent state gas tax between July 1 and September 1.
The goal is to encourage more tourists to come to the Bay State especially the Cape Cod during the height of the summer travel season.
