Police Arrest Green Line Sex Assault Suspect

BOSTON (WBZ) ―

MBTA police believe they have caught the man suspected of exposing himself to teenage girls on the Green Line.

According to police, Jeffrey Berman, 60, was arrested and admitted to groping a girl at a "T" stop.

Investigators had been working on just a description of the suspect until recently, when one of the victims recognized him on a train and snapped his picture with a cell phone camera.

That image helped lead to Berman's capture. Berman was released on Saturday after his brother posted his bail.

Police are now asking other victim's to come forward. Police say there were four attacks dating back to the last school year. Each incident happened between the Government Center station and the Brigham Circle stop on the E line.

Berman's neighbors in Newton told WBZ that he has lived in the neighborhood for four years and has two children of his own. They say they don't believe the charges against him.
