The woman who suffered the most severe injuries in last month's Green Line crash in Newton is suing the MBTA.
An attorney for
Min Perry filed a complaint in Suffolk Superior Court seeking damages for Perry's injuries. The 37-year-old, whose legs were pinned underneath scrap metal after the accident, suffered fractures to her leg and other injuries. Workers were forced to use special equipment to pull her from the crashed trolley.
Perry was sitting behind the driver of the trolley, Terrese Edmonds, 24, of Boston, who was the only person killed in the accident.
According to Perry's attorney, Perry will suffer physical and emotional consequences from the May 28 crash for years.
Earlier this month, investigators after performing numerous tests -- said Edmonds was not on the phone at the time of the crash. The D.A.'s office closed the case.
NTSB spokesman Peter Knudson said the agency will review the information provided by the D.A.'s office and by any other state, federal or local agencies studying the crash. "We will continue to look at all the facts to ensure that we have a comprehensive understanding of all the elements that could be factors in this accident," Knudson said.
Knudson said the agency wouldn't speculate about a possible cause, but said the focus of their investigation has largely narrowed to include the MBTA's overall operations and human performance, which includes everything that the operator was doing.
General Manager Daniel Grabauskas said the MBTA will continue work with the NTSB to find a cause of the accident.
