Fight Over Woman Ends In Hatchet Attack

A fight over a woman escalated into a hatchet attack in Roxbury Friday night.

Two men were arguing about a woman at an apartment on Blue Hill Avenue just before 9 p.m. when one of them grabbed a hatchet.

Boston police spokesman Joe Zanoli told WBZ the victim, a 52-year-old man, was hit in the head, right arm and hand.

The attacker ran off before officers arrived.

Police have not released their names.

They said both men had been drinking.

The victim was taken to Boston Medical Center.

He's in stable condition and expected to survive.

Police are still looking for the hatchet man.
