Middle School Football Team Faces Hazing Scandal
LACONIA, N.H. (WBZ) ―
The football season ended earlier than expected for a New Hampshire middle school team. Their final two games were cancelled because of alleged hazing.
According to a report in The Citizen, Laconia police are investigating claims that several players on the Memorial Middle School football team were involved in hazing in the last month.
Investigators and school officials would not release any details about the incidents, which allegedly took place in the locker room at a time when the coaches were not there.
A parent contacted Coach Jeff Keith Tuesday about the incidents.
"No coach wants this to happen under his watch. Everybody is devastated by it," Keith told the paper.
