Search For Possible Missing Man In Hingham Pond
HINGHAM (WBZ) ―
Emergency crews in Hingham are searching a local pond for a missing man.
WBZ's Bill Shields reports that police and the fire department received a report of a dog that lost its owner earlier today.
People in the area apparently know the unidentified man and his St. Bernard and are now wondering if he fell into Accord Pond. Witnesses say the dog was seen sitting down in a spot in front of the water whimpering.
According to reports, the man was seen walking into the woods near the pond with his dog, but the St. Bernard was the only one to come out of the woods.
Boats and dive teams are out on the water searching for the man.
Crews have also been searching the nearby woods.
The dog has no tags, which is making it harder for police to identify the missing man.
The man and his dog are frequently seen around the pond, residents say.
Search crews have found nothing so far.
