Hopkinton Schools Locked Down During Police Search

Suspect Taken Into Custody

HOPKINTON, Mass. (WBZ) ― Hopkinton schools were placed under lockdown Tuesday afternoon because of police search.

A suspect, whose name has not been released, was taken into custody late Tuesday afternoon, though it's unclear what charges the man faces.

Officers said they were looking for a driver who ran off after they pulled him over on Front Street shortly after 11 a.m. They believe the car was stolen and that the man may have broken into a home.

All five schools in town were dismissed about an hour late as a precaution.

No one was injured.
