The three-alarm fire in Hull that left 10 families homeless is believed to be suspicious.
The three-story home started burning around 1 a.m. on Sunday at 10 Malta St.
According to the Hull Fire Department, crews were met by heavy fire and smoke conditions on the second and third floors of the home. Officials believe the fire started on the third floor.
Eight surrounding towns, including Hingham, Cohasset and Scituate, helped fight the fire.
No injuries were reported. "This was a very dangerous and difficult fire to fight and could have resulted in a major loss of life," said Deputy Fire Chief Chris Russo.
Officials are questioning a person of interest who may be one of the residents who lived in the building. "We don't have the exact cause right now," said Hull Fire Chief Robert Hullington. "That's under investigation."
Damages are estimated to be at $250,000 to $350,000.
The families displaced by the fire are receiving help from the Red Cross.
