Mom Accused Of Leaving Infant In Running Car

SALEM, N.H. (WBZ) ― A New Hampshire woman was arrested after police say she left her infant in a car while she went into a Macy's to make a return.

Kelly Acerra, 34, of Sandown, allegedly left the baby in her car in the parking lot at the Rockingham Mall on Monday.

A passerby noticed the infant and called police.

Police say the car was running, unlocked and had an interior light left on.

Acerra came out of the store a short time later pushing a cart with another baby in it. It is unclear if that child belongs to her too. Acerra told police she was making a return at Macy's and didn't want to take the sleeping baby inside with her.

She was taken into police custody and charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
