JetBlue Adds Cheap Flights To DC, Baltimore
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
A discount air fare battle is beginning at Logan Airport.
JetBlue announced Thursday that starting in September it will begin daily flights from Boston to Baltimore-Washington International Airport.
Fares start at $39.
Earlier this month,
Southwest Airlines announced it will launch Boston-to-Baltimore service in August, starting at $49 one-way.
Scott Laurence, JetBlue vice president of network planning, told
the Boston Globe the decision had nothing to do with Southwest.
"This is part of a bigger strategy involving Boston. We want to focus on the biggest destinations of the markets that matter most to us," he said.
