New Citizens Sworn In On Esplanade & Constitution

BOSTON (WBZ) ― 26 Massachusetts residents will be sworn in as United States citizens Wednesday afternoon at the Hatch Shell.

Immigrants from countries including Ireland, Latvia and Sierra Leone are expected to attend the ceremony, which kicks of a long day of music and fireworks on the Esplanade.

Ten other residents will take the Oath of Allegiance to become American citizens on board the USS Constitution.

Old Ironsides, the nation's oldest commissioned warship, will make its annual "turnaround cruise" in Boston Harbor during the ceremony.
