Kissing Attack Leads Police To Long Lost Suspect

DORCHESTER (WBZ) ― A man wanted for an attempted rape near a Brookline T station nearly two years ago was captured in Dorchester this week moments after another alleged assault.

24-year-old Samuel Prado of Boston was arrested Wednesday morning outside the Home Depot at the South Bay Mall.

THE DORCHESTER ATTACK

A man told police he ran into the store to pick something up while his girlfriend waited in their car in the parking lot.

When he came out, police say he saw a stranger in his car sitting on his girlfriend's lap trying to kiss her.

The stranger, later identified as Prado, ran off.

Police caught him a short time later and took him into custody on several outstanding arrest warrants and for resisting arrest.

THE 2007 BROOKLINE ATTACK

One of those warrants was for failing to show up in court in 2008 to face charges in the Brookline attack.

Prosecutors say Prado tried to rape a young woman after she got off a Green Line train in Brookline Village in December 2007.

She escaped.

Prado was arrested several hours later at Logan Airport after he was questioned for allegedly harassing people there.

He was charged with unarmed robbery, assault with intent to rape, and assault and battery.

Prosecutors asked for $10,000 bail, but the judge released Prado on personal recognizance.

He never returned to court, so a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Police didn't know where he was until his arrest in Dorchester Wednesday.
