Kitty Stuck In Pipe Saved On The Cape

WAREHAM (WBZ) ― A tiny kitten is recovering from a frightening journey on the Cape.

She was stuck in a pipe for several days.

A woman in Onset called the fire department Friday afternoon after hearing a kitten crying repeatedly in her yard.

Firefighters tracked the 6-week old down in a PVC pipe.

It took them an hour and some vegetable oil to remove her safely.

She was emaciated and dehydrated. One of her paws may be broken and could require surgery.

She was taken to "A Helping Paw" shelter in Wareham, where she is now recovering.

She's also been named "Piper."

Anyone interested in adopting her can contact the shelter at 508-759-2887 or visit their web site.
