A case that has stumped and haunted police on the Cape for years is getting a new look.
The "Lady of the Dunes" murder has now gone unsolved for 35 years.
In July 1974, a young woman's body was found in the sand dunes of the Cape Cod National Seashore.
Her hands had been cut off and police have never been able to identify her.
Now, the new Provincetown police chief is reopening the case.
Police Chief Jeff Jaran told the
Cape Cod Times that he doesn't have any new evidence yet, but he thinks a fresh set of eyes could help finally identify the woman.
