Father Killed Outside Troubled Nightclub
LAWRENCE (WBZ) ―
One man was killed and another is in critical condition after a shooting outside a Lawrence nightclub that has been a problem area for law enforcement for years.
The men were shot
early Sunday morning after they left D'Cache, previously known as Punto Final.
Police say Julio Zuniga, 34, of Haverhill, a father of five, was killed.
His friend, Roberto Francisco Sanchez Rios, 34, of Haverhill, was rushed to Lawrence General Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. He is expected to survive.
There have been no arrests.
Chief John Romero says the incident started with an argument inside the club.
He says police have been called there 177 times since 1999, although the club has been under new management since July.
