Union Slams Lawrence Principal's 'Porn' Book
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
When some Lawrence teachers heard their principal had published a novel, were they supportive?
Were they proud?
No, they were outraged.
Why?
Well some likened the romance novel to "porn."
What's more, the teachers union says the principal should be fired for trying to hock the book on school grounds.
The self-published novel "Crazy Fortunes" was written by Oliver School Principal Beth Gannon.
The
amazon.com review says it's about an engaged woman who reunites with a one-time lover from her past.
The Lawrence teachers union tells
the Eagle Tribune the book is so sexually graphic it shouldn't be allowed on school grounds.
But they claim Principal Gannon takes every opportunity to try and sell her book to teachers at school.
They say that's not only unethical, it's against the law.
The union is considering a no-confidence vote in Gannon at its May 6 meeting.
What do you think?
