Stoughton police officials said a lightning strike was to blame for a fire at a condominium on Erin Road Saturday afternoon.
Lightning struck a unit at the Knollsbrook Condos as a severe thunderstorm moved through the area.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire. Heavy smoke was seen coming from the building, but firefighters were able to quickly control the blaze.
There were reports of lightning strikes, hail and heavy rain with the late afternoon storms in parts of Massachusetts, including Foxboro and Canton.
