Lightning Strike Kills Man Off Cape Cod

ORLEANS (WBZ) ― Authorities on Cape Cod say a man has died after being struck by lightning while on a boat.

The unidentified victim was boating on Pleasant Bay in Orleans late Wednesday afternoon when he was killed by the lightning strike as a fast-moving storm came through.

Police say the man was in his 40s. Another man, in his 60s, was also on the boat and experienced chest pains after the strike.

He was taken to an area hospital.

No other information was immediately available.
