Customs Worker Exposed To Chemical At Logan

BOSTON (WBZ) ― A Logan customs worker is recovering after being exposed to a dangerous chemical found inside a passenger's bag.

The passenger was on a flight from London Tuesday night.

When a Logan employee went to search the person's bag, he came in contact with a chemical called DDVP – a fumigant used to control pesticides.

DDVP can affect the nervous system and cause nausea, vomiting and muscle tremors.

The worker was taken to the hospital. His condition is not yet known.
