Teen Boy Hit, Killed By MBTA Train
ROSLINDALE (WBZ) ―
An MBTA commuter train struck and killed a 15-year-old boy who was walking with a friend on railway tracks with their backs to the train in Roslindale Tuesday.
MBTA spokeswoman Lydia Rivera said the boy was pronounced dead at the scene following the evening crash east of Bellevue Station.
Witnesses said they heard the train sounding its horn moments before the accident.
Rivera said the second person was unharmed after jumping out of the way during the 6:30 p.m. incident.
Their identities were being withheld. Police are investigating.
Those who know the boy told WBZ he was trying to cross the tracks to go to his friend's nearby home.
