Body Of Missing Man Found In Boston Harbor

BOSTON (WBZ) ― The body of a 60-year-old Quincy court officer Anthony Tufo, who drowned after falling from a motorboat in Boston Harbor earlier this month, has been found.

George Regan, a spokesman for Tufo's father-in-law, former Attorney General Francis Bellotti, said that a body recovered in the harbor Saturday was Tufo.

He said Bellotti had no immediate comment.

Boston police confirmed a body had been found in the harbor, but had no additional information.

Tufo was returning with a group of friends to Weymouth after dinner in Winthrop on July 3.

Officials say he may have fallen overboard after walking to the boat's bow to remove the bumpers shortly after leaving port.

The Coast Guard ended its search on July 5 after patrols by boat and helicopter turned up nothing.

Tufo was a well-liked and respected officer at Quincy District Court, where he'd worked since 1992.
