The woman
shot and killed inside the Marriott Copley Place earlier this week has been identified.
Boston Police said Thursday she's 26-year-old
Julissa Brisman of New York City.
She was allegedly advertising masseuse services on
Craigslist.
Investigators are hoping surveillance camera photos released Wednesday will help them locate the unidentified man wanted for her murder.
Brisman was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso outside a room on the 20th floor late Tuesday night.
Police believe she was a victim of an attempted robbery, which may be linked to a similar incident last week at the Westin Hotel.
Investigators said the same man was photographed at the Westin after an armed robbery there April 10.
Authorities said both victims offered massage services on Craigslist. The victim at the Westin, a 29-year-old woman from Las Vegas, was bound with a plastic cord and robbed of a debit card and $800 in cash.
According to a friend, Brisman has done a little bit of modeling and acting and she is in fact a masseuse and that is the only service she was offering.
Police said massage table was found in hotel room where Brisman was registered.
Lucy Slosser, a spokeswoman for the Marriott Copley Place, said the hotel tightened security following the shooting. "We haven't seen an increase in crime at the hotel so we believe this to be an isolated incident," Slosser said.
Slosser said the hotel was not fully occupied Tuesday night.
Investigators think the man is from the Boston area and they hope someone will see the photos and recognize him.
Police say they have received several calls so far.
Brisman has a mother and sister, who are on their way to Boston.
