Truck Crash Blocks Mass Pike Rush Hour Traffic

NATICK, Mass. (WBZ) ― A box truck crashed on the Massachusetts Turnpike early Tuesday morning, backing up rush hour trafffic for miles.

The truck rolled on its side just after 6 a.m. on the eastbound side in Natick, just before the Natick rest area.

The unidentified driver was trapped for several minutes.  He was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center with minor injuries. 

Only one lane of traffic was getting by the accident scene, until the truck was removed at 7:10 a.m.

WBZ's Rich Kirkland says the backup extended all the way to the Interstate 495 interchange in Hopkinton.
