Car Carrier Crash Snarls Pike Traffic

NEWTON (WBZ) ― Traffic heading out of the city was jammed much more than usual during rush hour on the Massachusetts Turnpike Wednesday morning.

A car carrier and another vehicle crashed on the westbound side just west of Exit 17 in Newton at 7:30 a.m.

Traffic was backed up all the way into Boston, because only one lane was getting by the scene. Side streets in Newton were also jammed for much of the morning rush.

The scene was cleared around 8:30 a.m.

There's no word yet what caused the crash. No one was hurt.
