Anonymous Woman Gives Pike Toll Taker $100

Read: Jon Keller's Blog

BOSTON (AP) ― Toll takers sometimes take abuse from angry drivers forced to fork over a handful of change.

But one toll worker on the Massachusetts Turnpike got just the opposite reaction on Wednesday night.

Gary Bonarrigo tells the Boston Herald that at around 7 p.m. he was given a $100 bill inside a greeting card by a woman in her 60s he did not know.

The card said just "share" with a drawing of a star.

Exactly what that meant, she did not explain, but the money will be put to good use.

Massachusetts Turnpike Authority spokesman Mac Daniel says agency rules prohibit toll takers from accepting gifts while on duty.

He says the money will be donated to a charity selected by Bonarrigo and his fellow toll collectors.
