Framingham To Boston Bus Line In The Works
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
The MetroWest Regional Transit Authority has just been given approval to create a bus line that would connect Framingham and its surrounding cities to the MBTA's Green Line in Newton.
Ed Carr, administrator for the MetroWest Regional Transit Authority, is hoping the newly approved bus line will help people commuting to Boston. According to Carr, the bus would bring commuters to the Woodland T Station, which is located near Newton-Wellesley Hospital, and from there, workers could make their way into the city.
Carr hopes to have the buses running from Framingham to Newton for three hours in the morning and three hours at night. A quarter-million dollars in federal funds will be applied to the project, which is expected to be up and running no earlier than January.
According to Carr, the commute from Framingham to the Green Line will take about an hour. He hopes to have buses leave the station in Framingham every hour.
