Frmr Middlesex Probate Charged With Stealing Again

BOSTON (WBZ) ― The former Middlesex County official accused of stealing is charged with stealing again.

District Attorney Martha Coakley said Former Register of Probate John Buonomo took funds from his campaign committee and used the money for personal use.

Coakley that Buonomo, 57, allegedly stole around $100,000 from December 2004 to July 2008 by falsely reimbursing himself for postage and forging bank documents.

Buonomo was also allegedly caught stealing thousands of dollars from copy and cash machines in the Registry of Deeds in Cambridge last year. He resigned in September, saying he wanted to spend more time with his family.

Coakley said Buonomo will be arraigned at a later date in Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn.
