Bridal Boutique Donates Dresses To Military Brides
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
A New Hampshire bridal boutique is helping military wives have the wedding of their dreams.
The Bridal Stock Exchange in Seabrook, N.H. will be giving away wedding dresses to women serving our country and fiancés, whose husbands are serving overseas.
The store will give away 50 dresses in two days. The first dress will be given away Tuesday night.
Store owner Heidi Janson decided to donate the dresses because she wanted to thank brides and grooms who are serving and protecting our nation. "For brides in the military or who have fiancés about to be deployed, finding a wedding dress is hard. They don't have a lot of time or money," bridal store owner Heidi Janson told the Eagle-Tribune. "The usual order time for a gown is six to eight months. They can't do that. Some of them have to get married very quickly between deployments."
According to the Eagle-Tribune, the donated gowns, which are mostly overstock items, range from $1,000 to $3,000 each.
In order to qualify for a free wedding dress, the brides must be engaged, be on active duty, or have a fiancé on active duty. A copy of deployment papers, orders, an ID, or any other documentation indicating active duty is required for proof.
Janson told the paper the dresses range from size 4 to 22 and will be given away on a first-come, first-served bases, and if more than 50 brides show up to the event, she'll find a dress for everyone.
Military Brides can head to the Stock Exchange Tuesday and Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The store is located at 255 Lafayette Rd. in Seabrook, N.H.
