One-Year-Old Found Wandering East Boston Streets

EAST BOSTON (WBZ) ― A one-year old boy was found wandering alone in East Boston early Wednesday morning.

A livery driver spotted the infant near the intersection of Meridian and White streets just after 4 a.m. and called police.

Officers picked up the child, who was dressed and appeared to be healthy, and searched the neighborhood for his parents. When no one recognized him, he was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital as a precaution.

Police found the boy's mother about two hours later.

She told investigators she put her children to bed at around midnight and didn't notice her son was missing until she woke up at 6 a.m. It's not clear how the boy left the house.
