Search Scaled Back For Missing College Students
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
Police in three states have scaled back the search for two local college students who have not been seen by friends and family since Valentine's Day.
Daniel Querzoli, 22, of East Bridgewater and his girlfriend, Amy Scott, 21 of New Jersey, were last seen late Thursday night after they borrowed their roommate's car and went out in Providence, R.I.
Police say the couple is apparently fine, after investigators were told by one of their friends that Amy called to say they were OK.
According to police, Amy also told her that "she was still with Dan, but they had something to take care of."
Querzoli is a junior at Bridgewater State. Scott attends Johnson and Wales University in Providence.
Investigators were concerned because the couple left their cell phones, wallets and credit cards behind.
"That doesn't make any sense. It makes no sense whatsoever," said Brian Warren, Querzoli's father told WBZ.
A roommate said they were also not dressed for winter when they left.
A photo released to the media shows Scott wearing braces. Her family said she no longer has them.
The couple was last seen in a silver, four-door 2004 Honda Civic with New Jersey license plate RUF 20X.
Anyone with information is asked to call Providence Police at 401-272-3121 or 401-641-8702.
