Woman Shot To Death In Mission Hill Apt.
MISSION HILL (WBZ) ―
Boston police are investigating an apparent murder in Mission Hill.
A 22-year-old woman was found dead in an apartment in the Parker HIll Apartments on Parker Hill Avenue early Tuesday morning. Officers were called to the home around 6:45 a.m., after a neighbor saw the woman's door open.
Early reports said the woman was stabbed multiple times, however, police later announced that she had been shot. Her name has not been released.
The homicide unit was at the scene all day Tuesday, and dogs were used to search the area, trying to track the suspect.
Officials said they have not recovered a murder weapon.
"This is a horrible situation, obviously. Any homicide is," said Boston City Councilor Michael Ross, who lives five houses down from the woman's apartment complex. "But in terms of the circumstances, I'm not aware of any details beyond what you've been told by the police department."
Anyone with information about the woman's death is asked to contact the Homicide Unity at 617-343-4470. Annonymous tips can be placed at 1-800-494-TIPS.
