Pregnant Mother, Child Hit By MBTA Bus
DORCHESTER (WBZ) ―
A pregnant mother and her child were hit by an MBTA bus on Washington Street in Roxbury Monday night.
MBTA officials said 2-year-old Johany Guerrero ran out onto the street and her 26-year-old mother, Yanitda, was chasing after her when they were hit.
Both were rushed to Boston Medical Center with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Yanidta, who is six months pregnant, is a dispatcher at Asthar Car and Limo Service. The accident happened right outside the front of the business.
Friends of Yanidta said she was crossing the street to get to her parked car. "She didn't care about her(self). She was asking about the baby. 'Where's my baby? How's my baby?'" one witness told WBZ. "They're going to be OK, but they're going to have that all their life."
According to reports from the scene, Yanidta was conscious when she was being put in the ambulance.
