The body found on Mt. Washington on Tuesday has been identified as a 70-year-old Canadian hiker.
Peter Shintani of Napanee, Ontario, had left no word on his intended route and had been missing for more than a week before he was reported missing on June 16.
More than 70 rescuers and a helicopter looked for him over three days, but found no sign of him.
Hikers found it off of the Lion's Head trail Monday afternoon, about three-quarters of a mile from the top of the mountain.
The unidentified man was taken to the state Medical Examiner's office in Concord for an autopsy last Tuesday.
