Coach Indicted On Charge Of Raping Babysitter

NEW BEDFORD (WBZ) ― A New Bedford man who coached youth baseball has been indicted on a charge of sexually assaulting his 14-year-old baby sitter.

David Coderre was indicted by a grand jury on two counts of rape of a child with force, five counts of indecent assault and battery on a person over 14, and one count of rape.

His arraignment in New Bedford Superior Court has not yet been scheduled.

The 29-year-old Coderre has been held on $50,000 bail since his district court arraignment.

The alleged victim came forward to report that she had been sexually assaulted twice at Coderre's home. Police say the girl babysat Coderre's four children.

Police say Coderre coaches with the Greater New Bedford Little League, but there are no charges connected to his coaching.
