New Castle New Hampshire Police Chief James C. Murphy was arrested for allegedly stealing $8,000 from the Coast Guard/New Castle Police Food Drive Fund

The police chief in New Castle New Hampshire was arrested for allegedly taking $8000 from a charitable food drive.
Chief James Murphy was charged with a Class A felony for allegedly taking the money from the Coast Guard/New Castle Police Food Drive Fund. The New Hampshire District Attorney received a complaint that Murphy exercise unauthorized control over the fund from 2002-2006.
A six month investigation was launched culminating in Thursday's arrest.
Bail for Murphy was set at $10,000 on personal recognizance.
