Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency spokesman Peter Judge says tree debris should be cleared from most secondary roads by the end of the day, making it easier for utilities to get in and repair damaged transmission lines.
NEW HAMPSHIRE
In New Hampshire about 90,000 customers were in the dark Tuesday afternoon, down from a high of 430,000 - the worst outage in state history. PSNH, the state's largest utility had 81,000 without power, down from a high of 340,000 on Friday.
Power crews from several states and parts of Canada are working on local power lines.
PSNH issued a warning Monday that if residents do not have their power turned back on by the end of the day, they should be prepared to remain in the dark through the end of the week.
