Pats Sign First Round Pick Mayo

The New England Patriots have reached a deal with first-round draft pick Jerod Mayo.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Mayo participated in the team's second practice late Thursday afternoon inside the Dana-Farber Fieldhouse.
Mayo, a linebacker out of the University of Tennessee, was the 10th overall pick in the NFL draft.
The Patriots also put several players on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list Thursday for the start of training camp, which means they cannot practice.
The notable names are Rodney Harrison, Wes Welker, Mike Vrabel, Ellis Hobbs, Jarvis Green, Nick Kaczur, Stephen Neal, Mike Wright and rookie Bo Ruud.
If they were to be placed on the reserve PUP list they would miss the first six weeks of the season.
