Obama Leads In Latest N.H. Poll

BOSTON (WBZ) ― With less than a month until Election Day, Sen. Barack Obama has taken a double-digit lead over Sen. John McCain in the battleground state of New Hampshire.

According to Survey USA, Obama now leads McCain by 13 points, 53-percent to 40-percent, in a poll of 647 likely New Hampshire voters. The margin of error is 3.9-percent.

Researchers found that the race is close among men, voters age 35 to 49, those who have not graduated from college and regular church goers.

McCain leads among gun owners and pro-life voters.

But Obama is boosted by his 22-point advantage among women, 29-point advantage among young voters, 21-point advantage among moderates, 18-point advantage among those who consider themselves an intellectual, 24-point advantage among lower-income voters, and 23-point advantage among college graduates.

No Democrat running for president has received more than 50-percent of the vote in New Hampshire in the past 44 years.
