Romney And Clinton Lead N.H. In New Primary Poll
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and New York Senator Hillary Clinton continue to hold on to their lead in the latest WBZ/Franklin Pierce University New Hampshire Primary Poll.
Among the Democratic voters surveyed, Romney is leading the Republican presidential primary in the Granite State by 11 percent. Thirty-one percent of Democrats said Romney would win the primary in New Hampshire. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is ranked second with only 20 percent of the votes.
But when Republicans were asked who would come out on top, the race was much closer. Thirty-seven percent thought Romney would win, and 31 percent though Giuliani would clinch the primary for the Republicans.
New York Sen. Hillary Clinton continues to hold on to a very strong lead on the Democratic side among both Democrats and Republicans.
Fifty-nine percent of the Republican voters surveyed said Clinton would win the primary and 71 percent on the Democratic side seem to think the former first lady will walk away with the New Hampshire primary win.
Illinois Sen. Barack Obama is a distant second, according to the poll results. Only 11 percent of Republicans and eight percent of Democrats think Obama will take the primary.
