Jury Nearly Seated In Horse Farm Slayings

EPPING, N.H. (WBZ) ― Jury selection is nearly complete in the trial of a New Hampshire woman accused of killing two of her boyfriends on the property of her Epping horse farm.

Sheila LaBarre has admitted to killing Kenneth Countie and Michael Deloge, but is pleading not guilty by reason of insanity. The remains of Countie, a former Wilmington man, were found on LaBarre's horse farm in 2006. Deloge has been missing since 2004.

Jury selection began on Monday. By Friday, 15 of 18 jurors had been seated for the case: nine women and six men. Jury hearings are scheduled to resume Monday, with the trial expected to open on Tuesday. Before testimony begins, jurors will travel to LaBarre's horse farm: the scene of the murders.

Since LaBarre has already admitted to the killings, her trial will determine whether she should be sent to prison for life or to the state prison's secure psychiatric unit.
