A 20-year-old New Hampshire man was arrested Wednesday on charges that he threatened a victim with a gun and stole cash and a diamond ring.

Portsmouth police say Andrew S. Young robbed a person at gunpoint earlier Wednesday, pointing the gun into the victim's neck and demanding cash and the ring.

The robbery happened at a Portsmouth apartment complex, police say. No one was injured.

Young was with two friends at the time of the robbery, police officials say.

He is charged with two counts of criminal threatening with a deadly weapon and one count of armed robbery.

He is being held on $50,000 cash bail and is scheduled to be in court on Thursday.
