Over 100 Arrested At Underage Drinking Party
House Party Held 200 Yards Away From Police Station
NEW LONDON, N.H. (WBZ) ―
Over 100 students were arrested in New London, N.H., at a party where officers say underage youths were drinking.
Police said 91 of the youths arrested Friday night are students at Colby-Sawyer College.
Officers broke up the house party at 81 Seamans Road shortly before 11:30 p.m. after hearing yelling and cheering from the house, which is about 200 yards from the police station.
According to police, 55 students were charged with alcohol possession after their blood-alcohol levels registered at 0.02 percent or higher. The rest were released to their parents.
The three hosts, Lindsey Randlett, 21, Margaux O'Connell, 21, and Kayla Flynn, 20, were charged with hosting an underage drinking party. All three women are students at Colby-Sawyer.
The school, which leased the house to the three students, is cooperating with the authorities, police said.
Colby-Sawyer President Thomas Galligan said it was not immediately known what action, if any, the college would take.
All 55 students arrested will be summonsed to appear in Newport District Court.
