Police: Man Drugged, Raped Dates He Met Online
Suspect Allegedly Met Dates On Match.com, Plentyoffish.com
SEABROOK, N.H. (WBZ) ―
A 34-year-old man is accused of drugging and raping women he met through online dating services, police in New Hampshire say.
Prosecutors call it a disturbing and brazen pattern of violence involving Tom Currier, who is charged with meeting a woman online and then drugging and raping her at his Hampton Falls home.
"When he's not getting the sexual contact he wants, he turns absolutely violent," said Rockingham County prosecutor Tom Reid.
"This is a frightening type of thing to have happen to someone, who trusted someone they met on the Internet and ended up absolutely helpless in that person's apartment, and helpless because of what that person provided them to ingest," Reid added.
Prosecutors said more women are coming forward with similar stories about Currier. One woman said when she went to his home and wouldn't take a drink, he threatened to shoot her with a gun.
Police say Currier met the women on Match.com and Plentyoffish.com. They say he went by the name AWalkToRemember08 on Plentyoffish.com.
Currier's family and attorney claim the father of two is an innocent man.
Now prosecutors are asking anyone who has met Currier online to call police.
"I believe there are more victims out there," Reid said. "If something has happened to you, let us know. We're going to look into it, and hopefully stop it from happening to someone else."
